The European schools offer the
variety of subjects. Everyone can choose the
subjects they want to study.
Teaching in most European
schools is more
creative than in Croatian schools.
A good example for this creative
approach can be seen in a high school specialized in
classical languages. The students have an
open-school week.
A student chooses a theme and does not work on it
in school but rather in certain
institutions which can help
him/her. At the end of
week a student has to present the
project to other students, teachers or his/her
friends.
European
school systems tend to introduce and educate their students about some
current issues - they teach young people
about democracy, tolerance
and nonviolence among
people.
They speak freely about GMO, pollution,
other nations and about various
themes about young people
want to discuss.
Young people
learn how to shape their
own opinion and attitudes and are encouraged to
speak openly about them in
school.
